Cobb County Police units are numbered as follows:
[Precinct (1-5)][Shift (1-3)][Beat (1-?)]
So
Zone 1, 2nd shift, 13 beat = Unit 1213.
Zone 3, 3rd shift, 19 beat = Unit 3319.
Notes:
- Lieutenants are typically xx01 units.
- Sergeants are typically xx02 thru xx04 units.
- Transport units (i.e. prisoners headed to jail) are typically xx99 units
- Rover units (not assigned to a beat) are typically xx5x or xx6x units.
- 29xx: Powder Springs Police (on Precinct 5 radio)
- 69xx: School Police
- 7xxx: Cobb Police STEP units
- Shifts:
Morning (1st) shift is from 2230 to 0630
Day (2nd) shift is from 0630 to 1430
Evening (3rd) shift is from 1430 to 2230
