I read this article in the Gwinnett Daily Post about this organization that donates protective vest to the K-9 officers. I just wanted to past this web site along to anyone that may have an interest. I think it is a great service that this organization does and maybe some of the visitors to this scan site might like to donate. They just donated a vest to Andor the Lawrenceville K-9.

The paper has removed the article from their archives now but here is a picture.

Thanks for taking the time to post the link about K-9 Andor and his new vest. It fits him nicely and I plan to start training with it on him this coming week. Just like my four-legged partners before him, Andor is a fearless partner who loves his work and is certainly deserving of the new body armor. Thanks again for your comment. Officer Emory Griffith

I think it would be great if the SG community came together and collectively bought another K9 officer a vest. If Gordon would be willing to receive the contributions and handle the logistics, I'd be willing to contribute the first $10. Then, all we'd need is another 65-70 SG'ers to contribute and we could help show our appreciation for our local LE.

Gordon, if you are willing, let us know and I'll make a contribution. Who's with me????

I have already made a donation and intend to donate more. I would love to see ScanGwinnett come together to make something like this possible.

Roz Schmitt was the representative from Vest-n-PDP who made Andor’s vest possible. She is an excellent contact if you would like additional information. Her email is paulrozschmitt@bellsouth.net Thx Emory

Perhaps Gordon could put a simalar donation thing like on the ScanCobb site for the new scanners on all the ScanGeorgia sites.

I thought about the same thing. You can make a donation via Pay Pal directly from their web site. It would be nice to have the scan sites represented. It does not have to be ScanGwinnett just ScanGeorgia.

You can always donate directly to the site, just add a note at the end of the process and tell Susie Jean you're from ScanGeorgia, or what ever county you're in.

I'm working on setting something up at this time.

I'm planning on adding a Donations-type block in the upper-right corner of the home page of each of the web sites like the one below. The image and the link at the bottom of the block will link directly to Vest 'N PDP's Donations page so that all donations will go directly to them.
I'm going to see if they can let me know anytime someone from one of the ScanGeorgia sites makes a donation and how much so that I can update the amounts in the block.

Good deal. Will have to donate again when you have this up and working. Want to make SG look good.

Gordon, that will be fantastic. Now, we'll just have to find a way to get to the die-harders who have the Forum Index as their home page. Laughing

This will be great. I love the count-down meter. That will make it happen a whole lot faster.

Okay, everything is all set, the donation block is now on the home page of all of the sites.

Vest 'N PDP let me know that they've already received $25 from members of the web sites.

When making a donation be sure and mention ScanGeorgia in the "Other notes" box on the PayPal form. When they receive a donation from a member of any of the web sites they will let me know so that I can update our progress towards the goal of purchasing a bullet proof and stab proof vest for a K-9.
