 | 3 hurt when SUV crashes into Cobb business |
A Kia SUV crashed into the side of a Cobb County building Wednesday, injuring the three men inside the vehicle, police said.
Cobb County Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said officers believe the driver crashed into a building at College Place Business Park because he had a diabetic seizure.
As the driver, who was not identified, tried to turn right off Shiloh Road onto Frey Road around 12:30 p.m., the Kia drifted across the road and hit the building.

 | Plane Lands On Cobb Parkway |
Officials in Cobb County said a small plane has landed safely on Cobb Parkway.
The plane landed on the busy road just before 11:30 a.m.
Pilot Mike Davidson reported smoke in the cockpit as he was trying to land at McCollum Airport when he made the emergency landing.
The Sky Arrow 600 Sport plane landed on Cobb Parkway near Acworth Due West Road and Nance Road, then turned onto Loring Road.
The pilot even managed to pull into a parking space at a subdivision under construction.

 | Mom allegedly tried to cover up fatal hit-run |
Cobb County police say Maria Isabel Pacheco Agullon tried to report her son’s vehicle stolen when she learned he was allegedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Marietta.
Agullon, 46, was arrested after trying to hide her son’s involvement and misleading investigators, police said. She was charged with obstruction of an officer.

 | Man runs 13 red lights while fleeing police |
After trying to run over an officer with his car, an Atlanta man allegedly led police on a chase through two counties Sunday night before he was arrested.
Harold Melvin Merkerson, ran 13 traffic lights and five stop signs in Cobb and Fulton counties while attempting to flee from Austell officers, according to his arrest warrant.

 | Wanted: School wallet thief in red Fiat |
Authorities in Cobb County are looking for a woman suspected of stealing a teacher’s wallet from an elementary school and then using the victim’s credit cards at area grocery stores.
According to the county school system, the suspect absconded with the wallet of a teacher at Mableton’s Sky View Elementary School on April 28. The suspect was driving a red Fiat convertible with a black top. Anyone with potential information about this suspect is asked to call Officer Randy Rogers at (678) 594-8620

 | Brother wounded over cash graduation gift |
Maybe a card would have been safer. A dispute between two brothers over a graduation gift turned violent, according to Cobb County Police, when one of the brothers shot the other.
Police went to a home in the 1900 block of Meadowbrook Lane around 11:30 Saturday night following a report that a man had been shot.
Investigators learned the brothers had argued about a cash graduation gift one had received from the other. The amount of cash was not disclosed.

 | Cobb officer injured in traffic accident |
Cobb County Police are investigating a wreck involving one of their own Thursday after a traffic accident on Atlanta Road sent a veteran officer to the hospital.
Officer D.J. Mangold was traveling southbound on Atlanta Road near Austell Road around 5:20 p.m. when he attempted to make a U-turn to go northbound on Atlanta Road, said Sgt. Dana Pierce. At that time, Mangold was struck in the driver door by Marion Thomas Woodward, 61, who was traveling southbound in the inside lane in a maroon 2001 Pontiac Bonneville.

 | Marietta man reported car stolen to avoid paying for repairs |
A Marietta man told police Tuesday his vehicle had been stolen from his Freys Gin Road home without his permission.
But later that afternoon, Paul James Smiley’s car was found by police at an auto repair garage in South Fulton County.
When police contacted Smiley, who turns 61 Sunday, he admitted he didn’t want to pay for the repairs on the vehicle, according to an arrest warrant.

 | Suspected ‘rolling meth lab’ found near Powder Springs |
Cobb County authorities Tuesday were investigating a suspected “rolling” methamphetamine lab found near Powder Springs.
Cobb fire spokeswoman Denell Boyd said the meth lab was discovered about 6:30 a.m. inside a truck on Brownsville Road near McEachern Way.
Cobb County news Boyd said a Cobb hazardous materials team was on the scene at 8 a.m.
Cobb police Cpl. Dana Pierce said police were questioning two men and a woman from the “mid-size” truck.

 | Teen hurt after jumping on moving car |
A Harrison High School student who suffered a serious head injury in a bout of horseplay late Sunday is in Atlanta Medical Center.
Cobb County police said Justin Harding, 18, fell from the trunk of a car and hit his head on the pavement about 11:25 p.m. Sunday. The Kennesaw teenager was leaving a home on Stone Lakes Drive when he hopped onto a moving 2001 Mitsubishi Galant, Cobb police said.
