 | $4.5 Million In Cocaine Found In Smyrna |
Two men face drug trafficking charges after investigators said they caught them with $4.5 million worth of cocaine.
The Cobb County Sheriff's Department arrested Ricardo Santiago, 45, of Marietta, and Edgar Dominguez, 31, of Roswell.
Police said Santiago had nearly 60 pounds of cocaine in a home on Sanibel Lane in Smyrna

An Atlanta pastor is under arrest, accused of taking money that was meant for an apartment complex and depositing it into an account for a church where he was a pastor.
Maurice Easley was placed in custody after the Mission Galleria Apartments discovered they were missing some $70,000.
"What Mr. Easley was doing, apparently, was playing musical money with some of the checks," says Smyrna Police Lieutenant Tony Leonard. "He was using some accounting fraud practices to cover his tracks as to what he was doing."

 | Cobb Restaurant Robbery |
Smyrna police are comparing notes with Atlanta police to see if the Sunday morning robbery of a Steak and Shake on Cobb Parkway is connected to a similar crime last month.
During the 5 a.m. holdup, three masked suspects pistol-whipped three restaurant employees, pepper spraying one victim, before leaving the eatery with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The same M.O. was used in a September 22nd robbery at the Steak and Shake on Northside Drive in Atlanta. The regional manager for Steak and Shake says alll metro locations now have have increased security.

 | Former teacher's boyfriend wanted for murder |
Smyrna police have issued a murder warrant for Juan Lazaro in the death of a former Marietta city schools teacher.
Detective Tony Leonard said Elizabeth Bowie's death has been ruled a homicide. She died of asphyxiation.
Smyrna police went to Bowie's condo, just off of Spring Road, on July 31 after her family asked them to check on her.

 | Smyrna Police Explorers win statewide skills competition |
Smyrna's Police Explorers took first place in a recent statewide competition, the third year in a row.
The Police Explorers program is part of Learning for Life, a division of the Boy Scouts of America. The program gives young people, ages 14 to 21, a chance to learn more about careers in law enforcement.
The competition allows them to test their skills against other explorers in the state, said Lt. Tony Leonard, the adviser to the Smyrna Police Explorers Post 217 and executive director of the Law Enforcement Explorers Association of Georgia.
